Earth Cable Pair Insulation Tester

Normally Earth Leakage Detector (ELD) is connected to bus bars of the signaling supply which connects all the circuit powered from these bus bars and insulation resistance of these bus bars is measured with respect to ground. ELD does not measure the IR of individual pair but of the Whole bus bar in the energized condition. The function of this instrument is to measure the IR (Insulation Resistances) of the signaling pair (with load and without disconnection) when the signaling pair is in un Unenergized condition.

Salient Features

Instrument measures only when the signaling pair is isolated (un energized). In case a pair is energized the instrument stops functioning and a White LED indicates this condition. The meter is calibrated to read up to 50M and a Red LED indicate on reaching the set value (1M-10M). Unit isolates itself in presence of any busbar voltage. Basic operating principle confirms to RDSO/SPN/256/2002. Clause 3.1.5
